HOW DO I....
Make An Appointment?

Same-day Appointments
We offer same-day appointments every weekday, so that you can be seen on the day you want to be seen. These appointments may not be booked in advance, so please ring the surgery between 8.30 and 10.00am for an appointment on that day. The phone line is normally busy at these times, and should the phone be engaged at the time you call, please try again a little later. This is so that all patients who need to be seen on that particular day will be offered appointments. Quite often, this will mean that you will be given a time after the morning surgery. This may mean that you may have to wait if the surgery is particularly busy.

Pre-bookable Appointments
There are some pre-bookable appointments for all surgeries. But the appointment we can offer you may not necessarily be at a convenient time for you. Should this be the case, please telephone the surgery on the morning of the day that you want to see the doctor. The reason for this is to avoid the situation where patients would have to wait for long periods to see the doctor.

Online Appointments
It is now possible to book advance appointments via this website by using the “EMIS Access” system. In order to do so, we need to register you onto the system before you use it for the first time. Please contact the receptionists at the surgery for more details on how to register for EMIS.

HOW DO I....
Obtain A Home Visit?

If you feel you need to be visited at home you must discuss the problem with the doctor. Please telephone the surgery at which you are registered between 8.30 - 10.00am. The doctor may want to phone you back to discuss the nature of the problem before he or she decides to visit. Remember: we cover an area of over 70 square miles. We prefer to see you at the surgery where there are better facilities to decide what is wrong and where appropriate treatment can be started immediately.

HOW DO I....
Find Out My Test Results?

After assessment, the doctor may consider it appropriate to refer you to a hospital to see a specialist in an outpatient clinic. This would normally be done under the NHS, so please let the doctor know if you would prefer a private referral. The hospital will normally send you an appointment by post. If you have not heard anything from the hospital a month after you were referred, please let the surgery know so that we can chase it up.
