It may be possible to deal with simple lacerations at the surgeries but please telephone first.

Referrals

After assessment, the doctor may consider it appropriate to refer you to a hospital to see a specialist in an outpatient clinic. This would normally be done under the NHS, so please let the doctor know if you would prefer a private referral. The hospital will normally send you an appointment by post. If you have not heard anything from the hospital a month after you were referred, please let the surgery know so that we can chase it up.

Computers And You

This practice uses a computer system to store your medical history. To reduce administrative delays, we also send some details by computer link to the Strategic Health Authority’s office in Lancing. Only your personal details, such as those which appear on your medical card (eg name, address, NHS number etc) are currently transferred. In line with the National Programme for Information Technology all GPs will eventually be transferring clinical information to a central computer with access limited to medical and other care services. If you are not happy with this you must let us know in writing. The Data Protection Act 1998 requires you to be aware of this.

Access To Information

Under the Data Protection Act 1998 patients are entitled to access their clinical records or any other personal information held about them. If you wish to access these records please contact the Practice Manager.
We are registered with the Data Protection Agency (Reg. Number Z6628121). If you have any questions regarding Data Protection, please contact the Practice Manager.
